About Us
PTB Ministries was formed in 2005 in the Charlotte, NC area and incorporated in 2006. It was started by Jon David Power, M.D. who received this ministry himself in another state and desired to make this available to others. Those who are involved are Christians who share the same desire. Each of us have gone through this ministry ourselves. None of us are "professional" counselors. We do have training and gain as much knowledge as possible, but our main source or resource is the Holy Spirit who just seems to love to set people free. In this spiritual walk, we find that healed people help heal others, and wounded people tend to wound others.
Due to a relocation to the New Bern, NC area, it is hoped that churches and individuals in the eastern North Carolina region will find the fruit of the ministry by what God does for them.
What We DO
No one is totally healed in this life, but we have found that we can be significantly healed and minister that to others. As mentioned in the welcome page, the primary ministry that we do is called "Sozo" ministry. This is not some strange or weird technique. It is simply a Greek word that means to save, to heal and to deliver. It had to be called something, and this word seems to describe it well. Many have been seeking a more rapid way to see this healing occur rather than weeks, months or years of counseling. This ministry is one answer to that prayer. We usually have a 2 hour session with a person, and much can be done by the Lord in that time. We usually have a team of 2 or 3 people ministering. We do not consider this as counseling. We do consider this more a "heart" ministry and prayer ministry. There is no formula even though we have a general plan. Just as each person is unique, so each session is different. We mainly want to learn how to follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit. I do believe and find that most people after having ministry will benefit from what I call "targeted counseling". This is very helpful in guiding them in walking out God's truth in their lives in a very real and practical way.
Is There More
Yes, there is more. We are always seeking to become what God wants, and we know that there are many needs. You can refer to the FAQ section for specific answers to your questions.
